Social Studies Teacher

The Social Studies Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and standards-based instruction in subjects such as history, geography, civics, economics, and current events. This role supports students in understanding the world around them and developing critical thinking, analytical, and civic engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver lessons aligned with curriculum standards and educational goals.
  • Teach a range of topics including world history, U.S. history, government, economics, and geography.
  • Promote critical thinking, discussion, and analysis of historical events and contemporary issues.
  • Incorporate a variety of instructional methods, technologies, and assessments to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Create a classroom environment that encourages respectful dialogue, curiosity, and inquiry.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, tests, presentations, and class participation.
  • Maintain accurate records of grades and student performance.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Participate in school events, professional development, and collaborative planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Social Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification in Social Studies or relevant content area.
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
  • Ability to engage students in meaningful discussions about history and society.
  • Commitment to fostering a culturally responsive and inclusive learning environment.
