Science Teacher
The Science Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, hands-on instruction in one or more areas of science such as biology, chemistry, physics, or earth science. The goal is to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific literacy in students through inquiry-based learning and real-world application.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lessons aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
- Teach scientific concepts through lectures, labs, demonstrations, and interactive activities.
- Prepare and supervise safe, engaging laboratory experiments.
- Encourage scientific inquiry and problem-solving through collaborative projects and discussions.
- Evaluate and assess student understanding through tests, lab reports, presentations, and assignments.
- Maintain accurate student records and provide regular feedback on progress.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.
- Stay current with scientific developments and integrate new ideas into the curriculum.
- Communicate regularly with parents, colleagues, and school administrators.
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school functions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Valid teaching certification in Science or specific subject area.
- Strong understanding of scientific principles and lab safety protocols.
- Effective classroom management and student engagement strategies.
- Passion for teaching and inspiring a love of science.
